New Tourist Tax November 2024. How much will I need to pay?

NEW TOURIST TAX COMING SOON....

Loule Council introduces a new tourist tax commencing 1st November 2024.  Tax will be two euros per night in high season (April to October) and one euro in low season (November to March) upto a maximum of 5 nights.  

Children under 16 years of age are exempt.

Hotels, local accommodations, and other tourist enterprises are responsible for collecting the  tourist tax from their guests.

Loulé Council expects to collect around 4.6 million euros annually with the new tax, which will be invested in “infrastructures, equipment, and services that enhance and guarantee the sustainability of tourism activity”.
